Nicholas Jones is a retired Riverside County Sheriff’s Investigator and former U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant with more than 24 years of combined military and law enforcement experience.

During his 12-year career in the Marine Corps, Nicholas served as an infantry Marine, deployed in support of combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, and was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded during the Battle of Fallujah. Following his military service, he spent 12 years with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, serving in patrol, specialized task forces, and homicide investigations.

Drawing from decades of operational experience, Nicholas developed the Sentinel Method, a behavior-based observation and decision-making program that teaches professionals how to recognize anomalies, improve situational awareness, and make more informed, objective, and defensible decisions under pressure.

Today, Nicholas trains law enforcement agencies and other public safety professionals across California, helping them strengthen observation skills, articulate behavior-based decisions, and enhance both officer safety and public trust.
