Africa NeuroCare & NeuroResearch Initiative
The Africa NeuroCare & NeuroResearch Initiative (ANNI) is a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to advancing neurological health equity across sub-Saharan Africa and the global diaspora.
Founded in 2026 by Christina Gaisie following her own diagnosis with Moyamoya disease, ANNI was established to address systemic gaps in how rare and underrepresented neurological conditions are studied, governed, and resourced — particularly within underserved communities.
Our mission spans five pillars:
Research and Data Science — advancing evidence-based neurology tailored to African populations
Education and Training — building the next generation of African neurologists
Care Delivery — improving neurological care access in underserved communities
Policy and Advocacy — influencing frameworks that shape equitable care
Community Engagement — walking alongside patients, families, and caregivers
ANNI hosts research conferences, educational programs, community screenings, and advocacy events focused on brain health equity worldwide.
