That Cuban Rum Guy
Rum has always been part of my family, culture, and identity.
Long before I became a rum enthusiast, I gravitated toward classic rum cocktails like the Cuba Libre, Mojito, and Piña Colada, drawn to the spirit’s unique character.
Everything changed after my first rum tasting in the Dominican Republic on February 24, 2019. From that moment on, I traded cocktails for neat pours and began exploring rum’s incredible diversity, complexity, and craftsmanship.
As a Caribbean Latino and rum connoisseur, I feel a deep connection to the spirit. For me, rum is more than a spirit. It’s a reflection of my carribean heritage, traditions, and the flavors that define our culture. Every bottle tells a story, and I’m always eager to discover the next one.
