Lauren Haughn | Still Waters Studio
Still Waters Studio was born in a season when I felt like I had lost myself.
As a mom and a teacher, my days were spent pouring into everyone else. By 7:30 each evening, when my daughter went to bed, there didn’t feel like much of me left. Even with the freedom of summer break, I found myself overwhelmed and drowning emotionally.
One day, my husband looked at me and said, “You need to find something that makes you, you again.”
So I searched.
I sat in my office, on the couch, and in grocery store parking lots wondering what that could be. Somewhere in that searching, I stumbled back into painting—but not just painting. Sharing it.
At first, I thought I needed a purpose or a hook to make it meaningful. Then the Lord gently reminded me: “Share My love through your gift.”
Immediately, I thought of a verse that has steadied me throughout my life, a verse I memorized in second grade:
“He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.” — Psalm 23:2-3
And with that, Still Waters Studio was born.
This studio has become my worship, my rest, and my reset. Through art, my soul is restored. Every piece I create is original and deeply personal—whether it’s greeting cards, prints, holiday artwork, commissioned paintings, or bookmarks I’m currently experimenting with.
You can find me at local vendor events, and my cards are also sold at STUMP. I also offer local meet-ups and shipping options for my artwork.
More than anything, I hope my art makes you feel something. I hope it plants seeds of peace, hope, kindness, rest, and love in your heart. And above all, I hope that through it, the Lord finds you.
