Geographic Society of Chicago

The Geographic Society of Chicago (GSC) is involved with anything and everything related to the study of geography. Our members and contributors come from all walks of life, all sharing one thing: an unrelenting love and devotion to geographical pursuits.

Established in 1898 by a group of geography professors in order to promote and celebrate the study of geography, the GSC today is comprised of professional geographers, teachers, business and government leaders, as well as interested members of the public.

Together, our board and membership provide education opportunities for students and educators, assist in building geographic materials collections in educational and cultural institutions, promote new and emerging technologies in problem solving, and much more.

There is no cost to attend our events, but please consider donating when you register in support of Geographic Society of Chicago programming.
