MusicOregon is a 501c3 organization serving independent professional music creators and the systems, communities and organizations that support them across Oregon.

WHAT WE DO:

• SUPPORT MUSICIANS AND MUSIC WORKERS. We focus on improving working conditions for people in music through small grants, public policy advocacy, educational events, and communications.
• ADVOCATE FOR MUSIC-FRIENDLY PUBLIC POLICY. We communicate the interests of musicians, music workers, and the music systems that support them in local, state and national policy discussions to improve the regulatory, economic, and civic conditions that support a healthy music ecosystem.
• STRENGTHEN THE MUSIC ECONOMY STATEWIDE. We work to ensure music is recognized as a vital economic driver by supporting sustainability, data gathering, and partnerships with public agencies and economic development entities.
• BUILD PARTNERSHIPS ACROSS COMMUNITIES AND SECTORS. We collaborate with government, nonprofits, businesses, and cultural organizations to align music with broader community goals, including education, tourism, equity, and place-making.
• CONVENE DIALOGUE AND KNOWLEDGE-SHARING. We convene artists, music professionals, presenters, educators and community stakeholders via forums, councils, panels, and working groups to identify shared challenges and advance coordinated solutions. These diverse perspectives address emerging issues and opportunities in Oregon’s music landscape.
• ADVANCE EQUITY AND ACCESS IN THE MUSIC ECOSYSTEM. We prioritize inclusive participation and work to reduce barriers faced by historically underrepresented musicians and music communities.
