Fantazma Market and Café

Fantazma Market and Café

Fantazma Market & Café was created by the non-profit Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation to open our Corktown location up to small businesses in our community so they may generate revenue and exposure to new markets. Fantazma, which is Spanish for “Ghost”, combines the “ghost kitchen” concept, which serve meals exclusively for delivery, with the “food halls” dining concept where different chefs are in rotation using the restaurants kitchen, which has become popular in recent years. DHDC has adapted that idea, including the market for retail businesses to operate alongside these food businesses and added live entertainment. DHDC began piloting this concept in August 2021 and has since been hosting an event almost every Friday evening from April through December. All events have space for at least 20 vendors and one or more pop-up kitchens with a low vending fee of $10-$25. Fantazma events are curated to provide a differing unique customer base weekly, and to invite creatives of all genres to perform and showcase their art.
