Detroit Greek Independence Day Parade Committee
The Detroit Greek Independence Day Parade Committee is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich heritage, history, and traditions of the Greek-American community in Metro Detroit. Through the annual Greek Independence Day Parade and related cultural events, the committee honors the legacy of Greece’s fight for freedom in 1821 while promoting Hellenic culture, unity, and pride among generations of Greek-Americans.
Working alongside community leaders, organizations, churches, and supporters of Hellenism, the committee organizes events that bring thousands together each year to celebrate Greek history, culture, and contributions to society. These gatherings not only commemorate an important moment in Greek history but also strengthen the bonds within Detroit’s vibrant Greek community.
Our mission is to continue building a strong and united Hellenic presence in Detroit while celebrating the values of freedom, heritage, and community that define Greek Independence Day
