Friends of the Durham Library

Friends of the Durham Library is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that helps fund programs, services, and materials for Durham County Libraries. The Friends also provides educational support for library staff. You can help by becoming a member, buying books, CDs, puzzles, and games at our Books Among Friends online bookstore, and by donating gently used books. In our long history, we’ve raised more than $1 million for the library through book sales and memberships. Hundreds of Friends contribute annually and many actively volunteer their time. The Friends received statewide recognition with the 2005 Frances B. Reid Award “for outstanding service to their library and their community.”
