Western Maryland Works (WMW), affiliated with Allegany College of Maryland, is a community Makerspace that brings together creativity, technology, craftsmanship and innovation. Located at 37 Lane Ave., LaVale, Maryland, our Makerspace is open to community members, hobbyists, artists, entrepreneurs, students and local businesses who want to explore new ideas, develop practical skills and bring their own projects to life. Our facility offers access to a variety of equipment from laser engraving, 3D printing and vinyl production to woodworking and CNC routing. Whether you're interested in trying something new, developing a hobby, learning to use specialized equipment or working on a personal or business project, Western Maryland Works offers an opportunity to learn by doing. Our technicians provide equipment training and guidance to help you safely operate our machines and develop the skills to work independently. You bring your ideas, designs, files and materials, and we'll help you learn how to use our equipment to bring your project to life.
