Established by the Office of the President in 2023, the John Nicholas Brown Center for Advanced Study (JNBC) provides a laboratory space for the development of academically rigorous projects from across the university that challenge, address and engage the wider public.

At the core of its operation is the JNBC public engagement accelerator, a unit that provides a selective set of individual Brown faculty research projects and university initiatives with audience engagement and communications expertise. Our goal is to promote outstanding academic scholarship across all of the disciplines that also communicates in a compelling way the importance of this cutting-edge work to a broader audience.
