NYS Community Commission on Reparations Remedies

NYS Community Commission on Reparations Remedies

The New York State Community Commission on Reparations Remedies (NYSCCRR) is a state commission studying how slavery, its lasting effects, and subsequent racial discrimination have harmed people in New York State. The Commission examines the historical and ongoing impacts of slavery in New York and develops recommendations to address those harms.

As part of its work, the Commission conducts research, engages experts, and hosts public hearings across New York State to gather testimony from residents, community leaders, and scholars about the legacy of slavery and its continuing effects on communities today.
