Southwest Sports & Fitness Alliance (SSFA) is a community-based nonprofit committed to strengthening Southwest Baltimore through sports, recreation, and wellness. From our hub at the Poppleton Recreation Center, we deliver year-round leagues, clinics, and enrichment experiences that help young people build confidence, discipline, and leadership—while creating welcoming spaces where families feel supported and neighbors feel connected.

We partner with local schools, community organizations, and residents to remove barriers to participation, expand access to quality programming, and promote healthier lifestyles for all ages. Our work blends athletics with mentorship, community events, and youth development opportunities that reinforce positive routines, teamwork, and pride in place.

SSFA’s vision is simple: make recreation a pipeline to stronger individuals and safer, more connected neighborhoods—one rep, one step, and one neighbor at a time.
