SFSU Office of Emergency Services
SFSU's Office of Emergency Services (OES) is responsible for ensuring the campus is well-equipped to respond to emergencies and disasters. We support all phases of an emergency, which include preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery.
We take a proactive approach to campus emergency management. Our goal is to empower our community with the resources to stay safe and be prepared in case of an emergency.
The mission of the SFSU Office of Emergency Services is to protect and empower the campus community through inclusive emergency preparedness, sustainable resilience planning, and collaborative response coordination. We provide training, resources, and leadership to ensure readiness, compliance, and continuity for the entire SFSU community.
What we do:
- Train the SFSU community on emergency procedures
- Oversee the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to coordinate rapid response and recovery
- Plan and lead emergency drills and exercises
- Maintain caches of emergency supplies
- Ensure emergency plans are up to date
- Provide campus emergency management consultations
- Keep our community informed about incidents
- Develop partnerships with neighbors, community organizations and City agencies
- Oversee campus Continuity planning
