My name is Kate Brown, and I run Bird Bellingham. I have been working as a birding guide and professional naturalist across the US for the past decade, and can’t wait to help you get curious about the amazing nature surrounding us here in western Washington. I have extensive experience bringing folks of all ages and abilities outdoors, and can tailor outings to meet any group's needs and desires. Bird Bellingham has outings for everyone-whether you are a solo participant, a family with kids or a group of adults looking to build community and deepen your connection to the environment- we’ve got something for you!

Nature is a Safe Space: As a queer woman with some "invisible" disabilities, I understand first hand what it's like when the outdoors does not feel welcoming or safe, and have spent the majority of my professional career working to make the outdoors a more inclusive place. Every nature walk I lead is a safe space for queer folks, people of color, women, and immigrants, and any intolerance or hate speech will not be tolerated. Nature is for everyone, and every single human being deserves to feel safe outside!
