What began on Halloween night in 1995—just dressing up with friends—turned into a life-changing moment. That night, I looked in the mirror, and I loved the woman staring back at me. From that moment, Angelique was born.

It took years of growth, therapy, and hormone treatment before I began living full-time as a woman in 2006, and on March 7, 2018, I underwent Gender Confirmation Surgery. Along the way, the stage became my sanctuary. In 1995 I started guest spots for 2 years at The Baton Show Lounge, and with great pride became Angelique Munro. Over the past 30 years, I’ve been honored to be professionally recognized and respected, as one of Chicago’s top female entertainers—a title that still humbles me.
