Murphy Fine Arts Center at Morgan State University
The Carl J. Murphy Fine Arts Center (also known as the Murphy Fine Arts Center or MFAC) is a state-of-the art arts venue with three theaters for performing arts and a robust and beautiful James E. Lewis Museum of Art to showcase many visual arts exhibitions. Within the walls of the MFAC are the 2,000+ seat James H. and Louise Hayley Gilliam Concert Hall, the Turpin-Lamb Theatre (271 seats) and the Recital Hall (167 seats). There is also a small, outdoor amphitheater. The Murphy Fine Arts Center boasts state-of-the-art production technology, dressing rooms, a costume shop to support a wide variety of performance types (e.g., concerts of many genres, dance (ballet, modern, etc.), lectures, awards ceremonies.
