Welcome to the Official San Diego Mahjong Club. Founded in 2025, the San Diego Mahjong Club (SDMC) is the city’s central hub for Mahjong. Our mission is simple: to create a welcoming, inclusive community where anyone can learn, play, and enjoy this timeless game.

Our primary format is Zung Jung (ZJ) — a balanced and beginner-friendly style that blends the best of Hong Kong (Cantonese) and Japanese Riichi Mahjong. We also play Riichi and International Mahjong aka MCR, giving players the chance to explore different traditions of the game.

Whether you’re completely new or an experienced player, you’ll find a friendly table waiting for you. We host regular events across San Diego, from casual game nights to teaching sessions, helping Mahjong grow as both a cultural experience and a way to connect with others.
