NAMI Lake Superior South Shore & Hope Haven

NAMI Lake Superior South Shore & Hope Haven

Mission: NAMI Lake Superior South Shore is a Wisconsin non-profit corporation that provides support, education, and advocacy throughout the Ashland, Bayfield, and Douglas County, area on behalf of individuals and families affected by mental illness. NAMI Lake Superior South Shore WI started a steering committee as NAMI Douglas County, WI, in the fall 2014 & was later incorporated & recognized as an official affiliate in 2015. The effort was led by Ruth Leathers & Nancy Minahan & has been going strong since.

After starting peer services in Ashland, it was determined that Ashland & Bayfield County could benefit from NAMI’s free programs & services, so a geographical expansion occurred in 2022. A new name of NAMI Lake Superior South Shore WI was accepted by NAMI National. NAMI LSSS (Lake Superior South Shore WI), continues to expand services & have greater representation from all three counties.
