About Us

The Shrine of the Black Madonna Bookstore and Cultural Center and Buy Black Marketplace ATL proudly partner to celebrate, uplift, and circulate the richness of Black culture, literature, entrepreneurship, and community life in Atlanta and throughout the Pan-African world.

Located in the heart of Atlanta’s historic West End, the Shrine Bookstore and Cultural Center has long been a hub for African-centered education, consciousness, and community engagement. More than a bookstore, it is a gathering place where history, spirituality, art, and activism meet. Through author talks, cultural programs, lectures, youth activities, and community forums, the Center serves as a living space for learning and liberation.

Buy Black Marketplace ATL extends that mission into the economic arena by creating vibrant platforms for Black entrepreneurs, artists, authors, and creators. From pop-up markets and festivals to workshops and networking events, Buy Black Marketplace ATL helps circulate dollars within the community while showcasing the excellence, innovation, and creativity of Black-owned businesses.
