My She Was Yarn Alpacas is located in Arvada, CO, set against the Rocky Mountains.

MSWYA began as a “what if” conversation after visiting an alpaca farm and retail store in Maryland in 2016. The calmness of the animals and beauty of a different pace of life from a “corporate” job were certainly appealing to dream about.

In 2023, we decided to jump in with both feet, welcoming four female alpacas, two of whom were expecting late August crias (baby alpacas). We are now a herd of six with two curious male yearlings. I love talking about these animals, sharing "fun facts," and letting others have special moments with the alpacas.

The name My She Was Yarn Alpacas is derived from a line in a favorite Katherine Hepburn movie, The Philadelphia Story.
