The Penny Foundation is a Birmingham-based community foundation inspired by the historic Penny Savings Bank, one of the nation’s first Black-owned banks. We help civic-minded donors, partners, and businesses translate their values into lasting neighborhood change.

Through programs like the Future Forward small business fund, the Alabama Bankers Guild, and The Penny Games: HBCU Debate + Gaming Invitational, we invest in the next generation of leaders, strengthen community partnerships, and advance economic mobility across Alabama and beyond.
