Tellico-S.A.F.E. was formed by a group of former athletes and coaches who relocated to Tennessee and are grateful for the opportunities that the Vonore community has afforded us in our later years. As a way of giving back, our primary focus is childhood development through sports and education. Our initial area of emphasis is Vonore with a vision of expanding into greater Monroe and Loudon counties. We plan to provide as much volunteer labor as possible to complete meaningful projects and events, while aiming to utilize 100% of all donations for the benefit of children.

MISSION

S.A.F.E.

We want children to feel safe in all aspects of their lives. SAFE is an acronym of the following:

S Stands for STRIFE: We want to challenge children to be able to successfully deal with obstacles, pitfalls and failures, since this is a critical life skill.

A Stands for AFFIRMATION: We want children to understand the importance of being a member of a group and the strengths that one has when affirmation is earned and given to others.

F Stands for FRIENDSHIP: The importance of friendship allows people to work through differences, which creates mutual respect and acceptance.

E Stands for EDUCATION: We see everything that occurs with children as a teaching moment/educational experience. We want children to walk away from their experiences with us having gained several "tools in their toolbox" to deal with the challenges of everyday life.
