Resisting the Long War
Building on the international success of previous Triennials, the 2026 Veteran Art Triennial and Summit, Resisting the Long War, foregrounds artists’ creative defiance to war and militarism. Across exhibitions, performances, and public programs, the Triennial traces overlapping histories of antiwar organizing and offers urgent visions of peace, repair, justice, and collective liberation generated by communities impacted by war.
RESISTING THE LONG WAR is organized by Aaron Hughes, Mohamed Mehdi, Amber Zora, and Iván Arenas, with support from the Chicago Cultural Center, Hyde Park Art Center, Elmhurst Art Museum, Walls Turned Sideways, DEMIL Art Fund, and the Terra Foundation for American Art.
