Is this workshop in-person or virtual?

This workshop is in-person for both days from 8:30am-5:00pm PT (8:30am sign in and breakfast, workshop start at 9:00am), hosted at the Alameda County Community Food Bank at 7900 Edgewater Drive Oakland, CA 94621.

Is this workshop facilitated by REI or CARA? What's the difference?

This in-person 2-day Phase I workshop will be facilitated by trainers from  the Racial Equity Institute (REI) [racialequityinstitute.org]. The trainers have been invited by the California Anti-Racism Alliance (CARA) [caantiracism.com], the group that organized this workshop opportunity.

Will there be food provided?

The Alameda County Community Food Bank will be providing a light breakfast and  lunch options on both days and lunch will include vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

Question 4

What should I wear or bring?

Accepted Answer

Wear something you are comfortable in for the two days, keeping in mind that you may want to consider layered options in case you feel too warm or too cold. You may also want to bring your water bottle and something to take handwritten notes on (devices are not to be used during the workshop).

What if the individual ticket cost is prohibitive for me?

Please reach out to us! We generally break even and rely on ticket costs to cover all the workshop expenses, but we may be able to provide a scholarship depending on what the finances look like.

What's the refund policy?

Accepted Answer

Refunds can only be requested 7 days in advance of the workshop as it can be difficult for us to replace your seat in a short amount of time. Unfortunately, any transaction fees will not be refunded.
