Join us from 5:30-8pm on Thursday, Feb 29 at Sky View Middle School for a free dinner and internet safety training. Doors open at 5:15pm. Dinner begins at 5:30pm. Training begins at 6pm.

Who is this event for?

This dinner and training is for parents or other caregivers of Bend-La Pine Schools students in grades 4-10. This training is intended for adults. Adults should use their discretion on whether to bring their teenager (13+). Children (3-12) will not be allowed due to the discussion of sensitive topics.

What is the training?

The training is SafetyNet: Smart Cyber Choices®, which will be provided by KIDS Center.

You'll learn:

How technology can be used in a safe, positive, and ethnical way
Tools you can use to safely manage online lives for both adults and children

The training covers internet safety, social media threats, cyberbullying, responsible parenting, identity theft, and hackers and scammers.

Child Supervision

For those who need child supervision in order to attend the event, a volunteer child supervision service will be available to 20 children ages 3-12 from 5:15pm-8:00pm (the training is not recommended for children ages 3-12 due to sensitive topics).

A PTSA member with a Red Cross certification as well as volunteer student 4H Club members will be helping with child supervision in the gym. When you reserve a ticket, please indicate whether you need child supervision to attend, how many children, and ages of each child.
