Organizer of Specialty Classes
The Unexpected Productions Improv SchoolSeattle’s home for improv training, helping people discover confidence, creativity, connection, and thejoy of making something together since 1985.Our classes welcome complete beginners through experienced performers, with a clear path from your first improv class to advanced scene work, specialty training, and opportunities to perform. Students learn by doing, with an emphasis on listening, storytelling, character, collaboration, spontaneity, and being fully present in the moment. What makes our school different is that you are learning inside a working Seattle improv community. Our students can take what they learn in class and see those same skills in action onstage at Unexpected Productions, with live shows Wednesday through Sunday and Seattle Theatresports every Friday and Saturday.Beyond our core improv program, we offer workshops in storytelling, acting, musical improv, physical comedy, clown, mime, Shakespeare, puppetry, sketch, and other approaches to spontaneous theatre, taught by experienced Seattle artists and visiting instructors from around the world.Whether you want to perform, become more confident, meet new people, get out of your comfort zone, or simply do something creative and fun, there is a place for you here.Take a class. See the work onstage. Find your people. Become part of Seattle’s improv community.
