Research Software Camp 2026

This free-of-charge series provides researchers with accessible, practical training and resources to build understanding of artificial intelligence and develop skills to use AI tools effectively and responsibly in research.

Access all of the SSI Research Software Camp (RSC): FAIR Software free events in this collection. The RSC takes place from 19 to 30 June 2023.

Our spring Research Software Camp: Next steps in coding will focus on improving computational and training skills and exploring existing resources out there. The Camp will be held from 16th to 27th May 2022.

Our autumn Research Software Camp will address approaches to wellbeing and mental health in research software, running from 7 to 18 November 2022. All events are free.

This project, organised and hosted by the Software Sustainability Institute, University of Edinburgh, promotes research software best practices in social sciences through various outreach activities, from formal workshops and talks to informal meetings.

This Research Software Camp will be delivered over 2 weeks. Through a combination of hands-on workshops, a panel discussion and blog posts, attendees will gain a strong foundation in both the technical and professional competencies in research software.

Over the course of these two weeks, we will delve into the role of technical staff at UK universities, career pathways, and recognition of technical staff contributions to research.
