Open Mics

This workshop is organized and facilitated by Drusilla Cowan (or just Dru; she/they), the lead of Hot Stuff Creative. Dru is a Queer, white, non-binary femme from South Louisiana who embraced their Hot Stuff Energy after moving to the SF Bay Area. Their story is shaped by experiences of survivorship and non-traditionalism. In 2017, they left a young career in biotech to found Survivor Allianceーa community + events platform for survivors of sexual violence. Since then, they’ve done even more: from crisis hotline advocate, workshop facilitator, community space manager, to digital organizer for social entrepreneurs. Through this journey, they’ve come back to their childhood love of making art and found ways to bridge that creative element with strategies for personal growth. Hot Stuff Creative is the embodiment of that, building a life that’s genuine and harm reducing, through an accessory line, workshops, and consulting services.
