Wellbeing in Motionis the brainchild of Elise May, a former award-winning dancer and choreographer with two decades of professional experience. She has utilised the broad ranging benefits of dance training to work with many members of the dance and broader community. For many years, as part of her own physical training regime, she has incorporated many different styles of dance including Ballet, Pilates, Yoga, and strength training, which enabled her to have a long and successful career in dance.Elise has taught classes and facilitated workshops in both Australia and overseas, and was trained as aDance for Parkinson’sinstructor by the Queensland Ballet for their landmark program in Australia. Elise is also a qualified Yoga and Restorative Yoga instructor with a strong belief in the body’s innate ability to heal and restore mental and physical wellbeing through movement, mind-body somatic techniques, breathing, rest and recovery.Elise believes that dance should be part of the lives of everyone in our community; young and old, to facilitate social connection, shared experiences, physical and creative expression, and as an essential pathway to wellbeing.
