Leith Pop-up Play Cafe

We are an emerging group of community-based organisations, families, play researchers and early years practitioners committed to expanding 7 days/week informal play provision for Edinburgh's youngest children and their families. Parents, friends and grandparents of young children want routine opportunities to playtogetherin their communities - in addition to nursery or childcare provision. They want support, connection, shared resources and ideas, a chance to see their children's potential flourish and talk about the challenges of parenting.In partnership with The University of Edinburgh, the Edinburgh Play Cafe Collective is prototyping new opportunities and advocating for increased statutory provision to combat isolation, improve children's outcomes and strengthen communities.
