KNW is a knowledge-sharing and networking group for those working in knowledge-related roles, primarily in professional services businesses. We began in the West Country, but are now rolling out groups across the country. Our members include Heads of Knowledge and Information Services, information professionals and librarians, and PSLs. We also have members who are librarians in Universities, IT specialists and Knowledge Management staff from local larger businesses.Hélène Russell founded KNW in 2008 when on maternity leave. As a former PSL at Bevan Brittan LLP she recognised the lack of opportunity for local knowledge professionals to meet and discuss best practice, share top tips and learn new tools and techniques to improve their own practices. At the time, their only option was to travel to London, which simply required too much travel time out of busy days.We try to keep fees as low as possible, which is only possible because every member contributes what they can. Some host meetings, supplying a room and drinks, and others present on a topic. The fee for attendance at a single event is £95. The annual fee, for one person to attend all events is £250. There will always be three events each year, sometimes there will be more. There are four events in 2015. There is a 5% discount for second and subsequent attendees from the same firm and a 5% early bird discount for those who paid their 2015 annual fee by 15 December 2014. If you are self-employed, retired or unemployed, ring to discuss fees.
