FOR THE DREAMERS

Dhaga is a multi-disciplinary South Asian creative collective based in London, UK, dedicated to exploring South Asian heritage, advancing social and environmental sustainability, and pushing the boundaries of visual art and design. Since our launch in 2023, we have curated two major exhibitions, organized a community mural which featured on BBC Radio 6, and held an art fair for the DAYTIMERS Festival at The Horniman Museum, alongside a variety of other impactful events.Our debut exhibition, Sustainable Futures, examined social sustainability through a South Asian lens, while our most recent exhibition, You Can Sit With Us, redefined the concept of home through both South Asian and LGBTQIA+ perspectives. In Camden, we engaged Queer and Trans South Asians to explore their experiences and aspirations for the future of Camley Street, culminating in the creation of our community mural, Queer Brown Stories.At Dhaga, curating is a form of activism. By embracing intersectionality and subcultures within the South Asian community, we aim to foster connection and inspire belonging. Since our first event, Dhaga has become a hub for South Asian creatives, bringing together individuals united by shared heritage and a vision for a more inclusive future.
