Organizer of Evening Seminars
Founded in New York City, Third World Newsreel(TWN)is an alternative non profit media arts center that promotes media by and about traditionally marginalized communities, emphasizing people of color and social justice issues, through distribution, production and training since 1968.  Its Media Training program has trained thousands of filmmakers over 5 decades. Ultimately, whether documentary, experimental, narrative, traditional or non-traditional, the importance of the media promoted by the organization is its ability to encourage people to think critically about their lives and the lives of others, and to propel people into action.TWN is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the governor and the New York State Legislature, public funds from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the NY City Council, Golden Globe Foundation, NY Community Trust, Color Congress, the Ford Foundation, the Kolibri Fund, the Peace Development Fund and individual donors.www.twn org
