🎉 Welcome to Wheel Throwing for Beginners (BYOB) 🎉
Get ready to get muddy—in the best way possible! Whether you’ve never touched clay before or just want a creative night out, this class is for you. Bring your favorite drink, bring a friend (or three), and get ready to spin the wheel, make some magic, and maybe even a masterpiece. No experience? No problem. Our studio is all about fun, creativity, and good vibes. Let’s throw some clay!
🪑 What to Expect on Weekends
Our weekend classes can be lively and full of energy—because we keep things affordable and accessible for everyone. That means weekends can be busy! We do our best to help everyone, but this is not a private lesson. If you'd prefer more personal guidance, we recommend booking a private session instead.
Not a fan of crowds? No worries—just message us! We’re happy to reschedule you for a quieter time. We keep it transparent: check out our Instagram for photos of exactly what our weekend classes look like.
📌 Seating with your group is not guaranteed, especially if you arrive late. We’ll try our best—but the earlier you get here, the better!
👕 Dress to Get Messy
Clay is fun. Clay is messy. Wheel throwing? Especially messy. We recommend:
• Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
• An oversized shirt or smock
• Or grab one of our aprons:
👚 Cloth aprons – Free
🛍️ Disposable aprons – $1 (cash, Cash App, or Zelle)
🪣 Washing Up
Want your own hand-washing bucket? Bring a small plastic container if you’d like!
Otherwise, we have shared wash bins and individual sinks with soap and water. Most people are totally fine using our setup, but if you’re particular—bring your own, no judgment!
📍 Location Alert!
Google Maps might still point you to our old studio 😬
We are now located at:
1142 W 18th St., Chicago, IL
🎯 Right next to Bobijoa Korean Kitchen
🎨 Across the street from Chicago Tattoo
🚗 Parking Tips
We get it—parking in Chicago can be a beast.
• All parking is paid street parking
• No private parking lot available
• We strongly suggest taking CTA, walking, or grabbing an Uber
• Plan extra time to find parking and arrive early
⏰ Classes start 10 minutes after the posted time.
🚫 No walk-ins after 30 minutes late
💸 $15 rescheduling fee applies if you miss your class
We want everyone to get their full class experience without interruptions. Thanks for understanding!
🔥 After the Wheel: What Happens Next
Once your masterpiece is thrown, you'll take it home the same day.
Bring a small box if you'd like—otherwise, we’ll provide a simple plate or tray for you to carry it.
Want us to glaze and fire it for you? Totally! Leave your piece behind and we’ll handle the rest.
🗓️ Your piece will be ready 2 weeks later
📞 We do NOT call you—just stop by during open hours to pick it up
🧼 Please note: We don’t guarantee boxes for storage, so bring one if it matters to you!
🧥 One Last Thing: Coats & Bags
We don’t have coat hooks or lockers, so please place your belongings on the back of your chair or under your seat.
Thanks again for joining us at Color Cocktail Factory. We can’t wait to see what you create—and don’t forget to snap a pic of your piece and tag us online! 🎉💙
