Christian Rey, the acclaimed head winemaker of Quinta Sardonia, studied under the legendary Peter Sisseck, architect of Pingus and a titan of Spanish winemaking. At Quinta Sardonia, Rey continues the legacy of excellence through a rigorous commitment to biodynamic and organic principles. His approach emphasizes minimal intervention, allowing the land’s character to shine through every bottle. Rey’s wines are crafted from meticulously selected plots along the Duero River’s "Golden Mile," blending Bordeaux varietals in a style that champions balance, structure, and aromatic complexity. Each vintage is a thoughtful expression of terroir, produced through native yeast fermentations, micro-vinification techniques, and aging in a combination of French oak and concrete. Rey’s reputation continues to rise internationally as critics and collectors alike recognize his work for its precision, soul, and purity of place.
