General project description and design focus:

This program will focus on technical building systems that support mixed-use, high rise construction. Using a recently-completed project in the heart of East Lansing as a precedent, we will explore building fire separations / fire suppression systems, construction details pertaining to water proofing systems for outdoor spaces, and building access controls & security systems.

Presentation Learning Objectives:

1. Develop an understanding of building fire separations, fire suppression systems, and fire stopping required for mixed-use, high rise buildings.

2. Develop an understanding of water proofing systems & details for outdoor pedestrian decks above occupied spaces.

3. Develop an understanding of controlled access & security systems that are common for mixed-use, high rise facilities.
