About this workshop:

Software Carpentry aims to help researchers get their work done in less time and with less pain by teaching them basic research computing skills. This hands-on workshop will cover basic concepts and tools, including program design, version control, data management, and task automation. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems. The event is open to undergraduates, graduate students, and post-doctoral researchers. Our goal is to be inclusive; if you have questions about whether you can attend, please contact the organizers.

We are happy to announce that Laney Graduate School has provided us with funding to host this workshop. Usually Software Carpentry workshops ask for a small registration fee, in part because it cuts down on the number of no-shows.

Since we are not charging a fee, instead we will contact you once, two weeks before the workshop, asking you to confirm your RSVP.

If you do not confirm it within a week, you will lose the RSVP and it will go to someone else on the waitlist.

We want to make sure we reach the maximum number of people possible so that the event is a success. This will guarantee we can hold future workshops. Thank you for understanding.
