Scalable Partnerships Solutions Lab - Virtual Launch Event

Cahdco, a non-profit housing developer based in Ottawa, alongside CTLabs and Inspirit Labs, have been successful in their recent Solutions Lab submission to explore how mid-sized community housing providers and mid-sized private developers can partner more effectively to build affordable housing units across Canada.

What's next?

This Solutions Lab is an 18-month research-to-action process that will explore potential partnership models and tools free from market pressures and confidentiality constraints. This Lab has assembled dedicated partner teams in Nova Scotia, Ontario, and nationally, committed to exploring partnerships to increase the number of affordable housing units in Canada. This Lab will:

• Explore perspectives and friction points, align incentives, develop flexible and adaptable models
• Support Lab participants to co-develop templates, toolkits, and legal frameworks for partnerships
• Pilot these tools in each region and transform them into shareable tools to support proactive partnerships across the country

What is the goal?

This Lab aims to both empower a greater number of developers to participate in affordable housing development and allow community housing providers to scale, increase their financial sustainability, and deliver more affordable housing across Canada.

Who can get involved?

While the teams are based in Nova Scotia and Ontario, later in the Lab process there will be an opportunity for others across Canada to contribute their perspective and expertise. We invite any organization doing work in the housing space to consider joining us.
