About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned hobbyist, our private beekeeping lesson will provide you with the knowledge and skills to successfully raise your own bees and enjoy the sweet rewards of your hard work. Or, if you're just curious to learn more about bees and peek into the hive, that's great, too! We will meet you and your group at your interest and skill level.

Alix Daguin, our AOOA Project Director, will teach the basics about bees and conduct a hive inspection. Don't miss out on this buzzing opportunity to connect with nature and learn a new skill!

Since we will be opening the hives, please come dressed in appropriate attire: long pants, long-sleeved shirts, tall socks, and comfortable, closed-toed shoes are recommended.

One ticket is good for up to 3 adults and 3 children. We have 3 young child-sized suits and 3 adult suits. If children under 18 are participating, at least one adult must also be present.

A proper suit fit is required to ensure safety while in close proximity to the hives. Please note that although we have various bee suit sizes available and try our very best to accommodate everyone who wants to get close to the hives, we cannot always guarantee an ideal fit.

Light refreshments will be served.
