Page of Wands and Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan: Mapping the Depths of Us

Facilitated by poet and science communicator Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan - this special Page of Wands poetry workshop will include writing exercises around the politics of discovery, and playing with different writing forms to interpret scientific information. No qualifications or in-depth knowledge about science is necessary, all you need to bring is curiosity and something to write with!

This Page of Wands event is in partnership with Speaking Volumes through their Breaking Ground Ireland, Arts Council England funded project.

Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan (she/her) is an Indian-Irish writer, performer, and cultural Consultant with work published in over 20 journals and anthologies. She was a Science Gallery Dublin Rapid Residency artist in 2021 and Writer in Residence for the Institute of Physics in 2023. In 2024 Chandrika was selected as a Goethe-Institut Studio Quantum Artist in Residence, which has led to the development of Beautiful Workings, a project with King’s College London investigating the intersection between quantum research and migrant identity through poetry. www.chandrika.ie

Page of Wands is a writers’ collective running free weekly workshops and events in south-east London. Gathering at SET Social, writers of all words share poetry, stories and work in progress. We aim to create spaces where people feel comfortable playing with language, whether they write regularly, or are trying something new. Page of Wands sessions are located within SET Social Peckham.

The nearest landmark is The White Horse pub. To the right of the pub, across Nigel Road, you will see an open black gate with an A board placed outside. You enter SET Social by going through this gate.

Once inside, sign in with the front desk by letting them know you are here for Page of Wands. If you have any issues please ask a member of staff at the front desk, they’ll be able to guide you in the right direction of the session.

Accessible Entrance: Set Social has a ramp leading to a fire exit door.

Bathroom: An accessible bathroom which can be opened with a radar key is located outside the venue up a ramp. It is equipped with grab bars and adequate space for manoeuvrability. SET Social can supply sanitary products.

Assistance Animals: Service animals are welcome inside the venue.

Parking: Accessible parking spaces are available close to the entrance for patrons with disabilities. Contact SET Social at social@setspace.uk for more information about this.

Transport: The nearest station is Peckham Rye, this station does not have lifts. The nearest station with lifts is East Dulwich. There are many bus stops close to the venue.
