Women's Lead Club strives to offer educational opportunities for our members!

Join Tracy Kelly and Steve Schwortz of Lovers Leap Guides for a day of Self Rescue.

We teach this course at Rescue Rock. A perfect location away from crowds and set up just for this course. Climbers will first see a complete demonstration of a rescue situation starting with escaping the belay, ascending the rope to the injured climber, transferring to a new anchor, and finally descending mutiple rappels with the injured climber. From there students will be taught each skill until they are comfortable performing it on their own.

NO MALE PARTICIPANTS WILL BE PERMITTED

CLIMBING IS INHERENTLY DANGEROUS.

WAIVERS REQUIRED. Event info will be provided 1 week prior to event to those registered.

Frequently asked questions

Can I bring my male climbing partner?

No. This event rate is exclusively for Women's Lead Club members . When we say women we mean, all kinds: AFAB, woman-identified people, trans women, gender-non conforming and gender-expansive.

What experience is required?

Participants are expected to understand how to lead climb and lead belay, understand belaying from above (top managed/multipitching). This class will reference knots and gear you should be aware of in advance (clove hitch, prusik, overhand, fisherman's, munter)
