Libra Rising blends vintage synths, drum machines, electric guitar and vocals to create a warm and dynamic sonic space, moving between swelling shoegaze and celestial synth pop. Libra Rising will be performing an all new live set featuring expansive guitar sounds and deeply modulated synthesis, carried by hypnotic rhythms and compelling, dreamlike melodies. The new 7" record includes the driving and uplifting post punk inspired day and night, and day and night (nocturnal mix), a propulsive, ethereal, synth-forward dance track. Between the boundaries of pop, ambient, and alternative folk, Tess Roby has carved her own niche in the granite of the Canadian songwriting scene over the past few years. She uses her voice as an instrument to create cinematic soundscapes that transcend conventional production methods. Tess runs the independent record label SSURROUNDSS. On DJ duty she plays an eclectic array of electronic, new wave, and alternative music spanning time and space.
Adam Ohr is a songwriter, producer, and DJ from Montreal. His music can be heard through his bands over the years: Footprintz, The Beat Escape, and Dawn To Dawn. His first album as a solo artist will be released in summer 2025. His appearances as a DJ are rare and generally quite diverse, performing at weddings, funerals, and raves - playing music accordingly. For this event he'll be preparing a selection of cold wave and exotica records.
