The Science of Art & Your Brain

Making art helps calm the nervous system, improve focus, and reduce stress. When you create, your brain shifts into a relaxed, meditative state—boosting feel-good chemicals like dopamine and quieting anxious thoughts. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about being present.

ABOUT SAMANTHA REYNOLDS, FOUNDER

Sam Reynolds is the architect behind Cafe Namaste™. She is an international yoga teacher, creative entrepreneur and consultant based in Miami, Florida. Prior to her wellness journey, Sam lived overseas for six years in the Czech Republic, South Africa, and Rwanda.

After finishing her Master's degree in International Administration and Law, she managed a study abroad program with a focus on 20th century European history and the Holocaust. Most of her work was devoted to leading over 25 educational tours to Poland, Germany, Hungary, Austria, and Turkey. Her interest in humanitarian efforts, fostered by the trips to historical sites and concentration camps throughout Eastern Europe, led her to attend a human rights program in Rwanda in 2012. She had no idea she would move to Rwanda a year later. Sam lived in Prague for five years before relocating to southern Africa. She spent three months in South Africa and Namibia and ultimately returned to Rwanda to work at the Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village (ASYV), a residential community home to 500 youth orphaned during and after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. In addition to working with large donors and organizations, her greatest role was being a mentor to 16 young girls. After trekking the globe, Sam realized that at the very core of being human is the desire for meaningful connections. She founded Cafe Namaste to help people feel empowered, more connected and find joy in everyday living, despite its challenges. In addition to the events, Sam offers volunteer programs to engage the community in service, or seva.

Cafe Namaste has grown into an umbrella for different lifestyle events and is an incubator for small businesses to share and spread their message of wellness and joy. She works with wellness brands to share their message through creative branding, storytelling and photography.

Sam holds a Master's degree in International Administration from the University of Miami and is an experienced E-RYT200 yoga teacher certified through the Yoga Alliance. To learn more about Sam, visit her website.
