Workshop Overview/Description:
Supervision serves important functions such as fostering growth, enhancing professional skills, supporting clinicians, and protecting clients. We will briefly explore six key areas of focus in the practice of supervision. This training will offer information, self-expression and time to share. Play Therapy supervision is unique in that clinicians may have a different primary licensure and education from their supervisor. We will see how supervision can foster diversity and autonomy while offering support and continued advancement of excellence in Play Therapy. We will include play and self-reflection as this training models components of supervision and play therapy in our community of learning. We will compare related skills such as counseling and teaching, clarifying what supervision entails for Play Therapists. We will learn together through connection and play.
