About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

En Ritmo: A Praxis in Decolonizing Traditional Dance Spaces, is a movement workshop that uses cultural syncretism of the elements of bomba and contemporary dance to effect decolonization upon the body. This immersive physical workshop engages in acts of collective resilience, rhythmic investigation, and journeying into the self to unveil a new approach to movement practice and experimentation.

A culmination of a 5 year PhD practice-led investigation by Megan Curet, this will be the final workshop ahead of the panel for defense. Come join us to collect gather and commune.

The workshop will be filmed and documented for panel defense and data collection.

Movement and image waiver must be signed before partaking.

Free and open to the public, no dance background is required.

Please contact Megan Curet at curetperformanceproject@gmail.com with any accessibility needs.
