B.Y.O.P. Virtual Work Party (Bring Your Own Project)
Date and time
Description
WHAT:
- A series of weekly 90-minute Virtual Work Parties
- BYOP: Bring Your Own Project, get stuff done, and bridge the Work-From-Home isolation along the way.
- HERE'S THE GENERAL PLAN: We'll open with a brief grounding practice. You'll have a few minutes to gather your thoughts and verify your priorities for the session. Then we'll work together in parallel. We'll take a break mid-way through to stretch and get re-focused. We'll dive back in, and we'll end with a few minutes to write down the 'What's Next' step(s) on our respective projects.
- You can come to any or all of them, as fits your schedule and need.
WHEN: MULTIPLE DATES
- Four Thursdays in April: 10:30am - noon PST. (April 2, 9, 16, and 23).
- PLEASE NOTE: You can register for any combo of these dates; EventBrite will not have that detailed info in calendar form, so you'll need to enter your selections to your calendar manually (or edit it manually when you save it from EventBrite).
WHY:
- If you're working from home, it can be hard to focus, and it's so easy to get distracted. (And for those of you who are new to working from home, that was true before people were dealing with a pandemic, home-schooling children, and/or adapting in a million other ways).
- Even virtually, it's amazing how much we can get done when there's a thread of connection, parallel focus, and mutual inspiration. It's energizing and humanizing to hear quick snippets about what other people are working on, from long-avoided tasks to deep thinking about big projects. And it's satisfying to check in at the end, and hear a couple highlights of progress, momentum, courage, persistence, etc.
WHO:
- For people who are working from home / self-quarantining, and want virtual companionship while they get stuff done.
- For people who have a big project on their plate, and want to jump-start the process, or pick it back up if they're stuck.
- For people who've been avoiding THAT TASK, or who are have too many things to choose from.
LOGISTICS:
- These sessions will take place by videoconference.
- Link + log-in information will be shared with registered attendees.
- It's free, but space is limited, and registration is required. (You'll need a Zoom account, which is free to get.)
SUPPLIES:
- Some ideas about what you want to work on, and related supplies.
- A Zoom account (free to get: https://zoom.us/ )
