Date: August 8th

Time:10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Location: Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts . and Agriculture

We are delighted to welcome back PMRCAA resident artist Hilary Pfeifer for this one day nest making workshop. Hilary was recently featured on Oregon Art Beat, with a focus on her 150 nest installation. She brings her enthusiasm and skill to Pine Meadow Ranch, encouraging others to explore the creative art of nest making using found materials.

Workshop Highlights:

  • New Life for Found Materials: Starting with a basic form, participants will learn how to build a foundation of wire and fiber and then attach natural materials and/or found ephemera to build a sculptural nest.

Optional Materials to Bring:

Please consider bringing small natural and found materials to share. Example: acorn tops, flexible branches, beads, things you find in the street, shells, seeds, hardware, parts from toys, etc.

All other materials will be provided.

No experience required.

For ages 16 and older. Those under age 16 may attend accompanied by an adult.

About the Instructor:

Hilary Pfeifer is a craft-influenced sculptor who’s more often found scouring discard piles and hardware stores for her materials than a traditional art supply store. Her work explores the natural world through object, collage, installation and public art. Her current project "godseye" was recently featured on Oregon Art Beat.
