BIG WAVE DAVE
Big Wave Dave and the Ripples is an eight-piece soul band with a full horn section that has torn up Twin Ports dance floors and summer stages for years. Now the wave is rolling across TV screens from coast to coast: These group backed longtime Rolling Stones musical director and keyboard player Chuck Leavell for a song during a taping of Leavell’s America’s Forests PBS-TV show in Duluth. The performance aired nationwide in 2023. Big Wave Dave is vocalist Dave Adams; the Ripples are Alex Nordehn, Alex Piazza, Peter Knutson, Brian Wells, David Rode, Matt Wasmund and Scott Millis.
TIMOTHY MARTIN & THE NEW NORM
Timothy Martin & the New Norm is a psychedelic rock band from Duluth, Minnesota. Led by guitarist and vocalist Tim Nelson, A Duluth music-scene veteran, The band's dance-infused psychedelic, punk, power-pop rock and roll sound is said to "embody the stark, cold beauty" of Duluth.
