Beginner Sewing Class 101 - Pillowcase Class

Join us for a fun and hands-on sewing class where you'll learn how to make your very own pillowcase from scratch! No experience needed - this class is perfect for beginners. Our talented instructor will guide you through each step, from choosing the fabric to sewing it all together. This class is a prerequisite to the Beginner Sewing 102 Class. Please complete this class before moving to the next class.
You will learn how to thread a sewing machine, wind a bobbin, sew a straight stitch and pivot a corner. We provide materials you will need for class.

Mosaique Fabrics will have pre cut fabric kits for class is available for purchase. You may purchase your fabric kit from the shop between the hours of 10am-3pm or you can pay the day of class for the fabric kits. Fabric kits are $16 plus tax. If you would like to bring your own machine you can! Please be sure it is in good working condition.

All students are required to sign a waiver. Parents or guardians must accompany anyone under the age of 15 years. I encourage parents to help assist younger students during class. If only your child is taking the class you only need to purchase one ticket to reserve your place in class.

Students need to purchase a pillowcase fabric kit from Mosaique Fabrics before class starts. We provide the machines and tools you need to sew.
Yes. However, your machine must be in full working order. There is not time in class to trouble shoot machines and haven't been used for years. Also you must bring all bobbins and parts to your machine. We cannot provide parts for your machine.
8 years old or older is recommended for students. I have taught as young as 6 years old. If your student is under 8 please contact me first before reserving a seat to discuss if the are ready for class. Students will need to be able to sit for 2 hours.
If only your child is going to learn, you only need to pay for one reservation. The reservation is your seat at a sewing machine. If you both would like to learn you would buy two reservations to book two seats at a machine. Parents are encouraged to seat next to their child to help them.
Class starts exactly at the time designated on the description of the event. You are welcome to get to class 5-10 min early to get settled in at your seat.
Parking is right out front of the location of class, along the street and there is a parking lot near the Sonic where you can park as well.

Cancellations must be made 3 days before class for a refund. Day of class no call/no shows will not be refunded. Please remember your purchase is saving your seat and no other reservations can be made by other students once class is sold out.
